New Year Dieting
Even though most of us start the new year with the
resolution to lose weight as a top resolution,
according to research provided by NPD, "the peak
dieting month is not January (when typically 23% of
adults are on a diet). The top dieting month occurs
in March (with typically 26% of adults on a diet)."
According to NPD, of adults currently on a diet, the
diet of choice is not Atkins, South Beach or Weight
Watchers. The #1 diet is "My Own Diet"
For those creating their own diet, portion control
is a key strategy of choice. The Pocket Diet
teaches smart portion control but understanding some
of the underlining motivations can help you achieve
success.

10K Steps - Start Moving and Start Losing
Walking 10,000 steps per day can help you accelerate
and maintain your long-term weight loss.
A mere 5,894 steps a day. That's the difference
between the average number of steps walked by
"successful losers" - members of the National Weight
Control Registry (NWCR) and people entering a
weight-loss program, according to the latest study
of the weight registry's members.

When you have extra time (weekends) grill enough
chicken breasts for the week.
Rotisserie chickens are readily available, and make
for quick suppers (without turning on the oven!)
Pull the meat from the bone and use in sandwiches
and salads.
Grilled chicken strips are available in your freezer
section. Grilled and roasted strips and chunks can
