    Controlling Portions while Eating Out

Research shows that the more often a person eats out, the more body fat he or she has. Try to prepare more meals at home. Eat out and get take-out foods less often. When you do eat away from home, try these tips to help you control portion...

    Managing Snacks

The best way to ensure that you are eating the healthiest snacks is to have them readily available. Following are some tips for healthy snacking:

    • Stock your pantry at home and your drawers at work

    • Eat a wide variety of these snacks

    • Eat something every 3-4 hours, and never wait until you are so hungry that you will eat anything.

    • Also make sure you watch your portions

    • Eat the snacks one hour before your main meals to suppress your appetite

    PocketPoll

This week's poll results reveals more insight into our Pocket Diet community when we asked the following questions:

    • How long to you usually stay on a diet?

    • What time of the day is it hardest to stay on your diet?

    Walk it Off!

By Jessica Storm – Certified Personal Fitness Trainer

The Easiest Way to Lose 20 Pounds and Keep it Off

Do you look for the closest parking place next to the mall entrance?

Do you take the elevator or escalator instead of the stairs?

Do you drive even when you could walk?

If you answered yes to any – or all! – of these questions, then it’s no wonder you may be finding it harder and harder to lose weight. You probably have a sluggish metabolism. Activity revs up your metabolism, and a speedier metabolism means a speedier way to shed pounds.

    Success Story of the Week

    Peggy's Story

My husband and I started the Pocket Diet two weeks ago. So far, I’ve lost 6 pounds and my husband has lost 5 pounds (he’s a diabetic).

I’ve spent lots of time and money with doctors with little results. They also told me that I couldn’t eat bread. I sure can now and both my husband and I love this program. I never leave home without a pita pocket in my purse.

If I can succeed on this plan, anyone can!

    Pita Guru Tip

Where do you find pita bread in stores?

Are you having troubles finding easy open Kangaroo pockets? In most stores, Kangaroo is merchandised in the Deli-Bakery.

If you can’t seem to locate the product, ask somebody. Chances are good the store may have product in stock, but not on the shelf.

If your store does not carry Kangaroo Pita Pockets, you can print off a Product Request Form and deliver it to the Deli-Bakery Manager at your local store. They should be able to order it from their distributor for you.
